It has been a long time since I have created any blog posts and for that I am truly sorry.
I will be blogging again very soon at https://thebuzzedjourney.wordpress.com and I will also be starting a You Tube channel soon.
We have also moved from East Dallas to just north of Austin Texas (our life has been very busy) so I will have a spot on The Buzzed Journey about life down here in Central Texas.
The Cali burger and sweet potato fries at Burger Spot have come to hold the place in my life as my favorite burger and fries combination.
Of course due to my allergies and specific dislike of warm lettuce, I have them hold the cheese and lettuce but that leaves plenty left to love on the burger. Besides the big hamburger patty from Harris Ranch (I have them cut the burger into four parts), you get lots of avocado, black olives, tomato and mayo.
The sweet potato fries round the meal out by adding a sweet and tasty side item to the big burger. Enough comes in the order for you to share (or if you are really adventurous you and a friend could order the fries sampler and get sweet potato fries with their mini purple potato fries, original fries, and cajun fries.
Don’t worry about not having anything to drink because the have a full line of soft drinks, regular and sweet tea and excellent strawberry lemonade that is not to sweet or tart.
Stop by the Burger Spot next time you are looking for a nice casual place to enjoy a great burger. Located in Lake Highlands on Skillman, north of Royal but before LBJ (in the same area as Tom Thumb).
Avenue Barket on Greenville in East Dallas (3418 Greenville Ave) is my puppy’s favorite place to go each week. Why, you might ask? Two reasons: 1) Cindy Embry, she opened Avenue Barket fulfilling one of her life dreams and runs it like a true pet store should be; 2) All the cool stuff, he can smell, run around, and pick out what he wants (he might be a little spoiled but he is my little boy).
Avenue Barket carries only natural, healthy dog (and cat) food and treats and has a great line of dog and cat toys and other supplies (including a full line of natural supplements and pet care products).
Samson is only happy if he gets to visit at least once a week, and would love to go there everyday and visit his good friend, Cindy!
Open Tuesday-Sunday (closed Mondays), for more information, call 214-823-BARK (2275).
I have been thinking about what I wanted my new blog to be for some time and I decided upon sharing my neighborhood with the world! I want to encourage others to share what they like about living in East Dallas, from our great restaurants to our wonderful locally owned stores! Please share your thoughts about what makes East Dallas a great place to live. No matter if you live in Lake Highlands, Lakewood, Old East Dallas, Deep Ellum or any of the other wonderful neighborhoods east of Central Expressway, you live in East Dallas and have something great to share!
